The University of Essex has been awarded funding from Essex Workforce Development Confederation to develop accelerated programmes for graduates with a science/social science degree to gain the necessary qualification to a physiotherapist in two years. Part of the programme (e.g. research methods, health systems and policy and law and ethics) is taught on a shared basis between nursing, physiotherapy and speech and language therapy students.

How much will it cost?
The tuition fees are paid by the government provided applicants meet the residence regulations which state that you must have lived in the UK, or your country of residence if you are a EU citizen, for at least 3 years before 1st September of the year in which you begin your course of study. You do not have to apply for the fees as they are paid directly to the University of Essex. UK, and overseas born students who have been granted unlimited/indefinite leave to remain in the UK, will be entitled to apply for a bursary which is means tested. The bursary payable ranges from £1,000 per year to £7,000 depending on personal circumstances. EU students, although eligible to have their tuition fees paid, are not eligible to apply for the means tested bursary and will have to finance their living expenses themselves.

Assessment method
Assessment is by coursework.

A 2.2 or above in social or biological science plus an interest in people and IELTS 7, TOEFL 600/250.
