This course offers a postgraduate qualification for professionals currently teaching or otherwise supporting learning in higher education or other relevant professional contexts. The course aims to help you to keep up with new ideas in learning and teaching and key issues which affect the whole sector such as widening participation, e-Learning and the development of policy in HE. Choosing the right learning and development opportunities as your career progresses will help you keep your knowledge up to date and widen your career opportunities. Course content includes: Access and Widening Participation in Post Compulsory education; Assessment in Post Compulsory Education; Effective Electronic Learning Facilitiation; Independent Learning Module; Learning and Teaching Using Learning Technologies; Online Learning and Learners; Online Tutoring and Facilitation; Planning and Managing Learning (level 3); Postgraduate Supervision; Supervised Teaching Experience; the Chaning Policy Context of Further, Adult and Higher Education; Investigating; Education Through Research; Postgraduate Major Project.

Assessment method
Most modules are assessed summatively via individually negotiated assignments and portfolios. Formative assessment forms part of many modules and there are opportunities to self assess and peer assess in others.
Entry Requirements
Applicants for any pathway on the MALT programme will usually be expected to hold an Honours Degree or its equivalent. Applicants who can demonstrate degree equivalence through their professional practice and who hold either a Postgraduate Certificate in Education or a Certificate in Education, as well as at least two years experience working as a professional in a relevant field, will also be considered. Additional guidance is available for Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors.
